Our Beliefs

We believe in Jesus Chris as the Son of God. Born of a virgin and having lived a sinless life, He became our example. Jesus Christ was crucified for the payment of our sins, buried, and 3 days later He rose from the dead. Because of these events Jesus can be our Savior, Lord, and Master and Provider in life. God loves us, and desires a love relationship with us. Therefore, He gives us free will to choose Him. In believing Jesus was raised from the dead and confessing the Lord Jesus, you will be saved (Rom. 10:9-10). We also believe you will be changed; you will want to learn and follow the teachings of Jesus through His Word, the Bible. God’s Holy Spirit will be with you, teaching and convicting you. We also recognize that God has a plan for everyone’s life. His plan brings us peace in our heart and purpose to living.

We believe that our faith in Christ saves us and makes us members of Heaven and the body of Christ, the Church. We believe the answers come through these relationships and most importantly the Word of God. The way we live as the Body of Christ is to build relationships with Christ and one another. We become a family. A family that supports and relies on one another. With each one of us contributing with different gifts and talents, we make the body something special. We carry out those gifts and talents in times of Worship, Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism and Fellowship.

Pastor
Dale Jenkins

SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor Dale Jenkins has served as Senior Pastor for 36 years in three different churches, 22 of which he has ministered at AHBC. He and his wife Penny have three grown children and four grandchildren. Pastor Dale has served on the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee and as the President and Vice President of the Northwest Baptist Convention. In the local community, he has implemented a chaplaincy program in Airway Heights with Police and Fire Departments. He oversees all Church Ministries and regularly preaches to, prays for, and mentors the church.

Leroy Strain

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Pastor Leroy Strain has been an Associate Pastor since 1999. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, he is still genuinely surprised when it snows each winter. Pastor Leroy lives with his beautiful wife, Francee, and has two grown children, Brenna and Terrell, who keep him grounded. Pastor Leroy was licensed in 1999 and ordained in 2003. He presently teaches the College Sunday School, aids Pastor Dale, and fills in for preaching and announcements when needed. Pastor Leroy is one of the first people to welcome new visitors with a smile and a handshake.

Ty Cochran

WORSHIP PASTOR

Pastor Ty Cochran was licensed as a Worship Pastor in 1999. He and his wife Lisa have two grown children and two grandchildren. Pastor Ty leads worship music in a blend of contemporary and traditional hymns. One of Pastor Ty’s favorite verses is Psalm 98:6….”make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King.” Looking forward to meeting you soon!

Donovan Norton

Pastor Donovan Norton was licensed as a Youth Pastor in 2003 and leads our Chosen Student Ministries. He and his wife Deanna have four children. One of Pastor Donovan’s favorite verses is Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”

Deanna Norton

Deanna has been a believer since 1994. She and Youth Pastor Donovan have been married for 25 years, looking forward to many more to come. They have been blessed with four children together. Deanna Has been teaching and directing for over 29 years. She began in our Children’s Ministry in February 2020. At present, she is coordinating the Children’s Bible Study and stands as School Principal. Deanna’s favorite bible verses are: Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
