Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from Building and Grounds to Visitation and Youth.

Missions

AHBC is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community
Another area of missions is our affiliation with 2nd Harvest Food Distribution. Operated the first and third Saturdays every month, a crew of men, women, youth, boys, and girls come to help those who are needing supplemental products and produce to help meet the needs of their families.

Worship Team

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Audio/Visual Team

The A/V team assists the Worship team with equipment and aids to continue their ministry.  We handle the mics, speakers, computer slides, cameras, and other such tools to better project both the worship and the preaching to the congregation.  The A/V Team also oversees the Church’s social media accounts on Facebook, YouTube, Google, and this website.  This enables our sick, elderly, and long distance members to view our service from the comfort of their homes. For more information on our social media accounts, go to http://ahbc.us/media.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overemphasized. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Tuesday, they come together for a special time of prayer.

Hospitality
Our hospitality ministry is a vital to the church. The outreach includes Sunday refreshments for Bible Study classes and after-service refreshments, banquets, small parties, staff meetings, wedding and funeral meals. If you have a heart for service, this ministry provides ample opportunities to serve the Lord and others.

Bible Study Leaders
Under the guidance of the Adult Education Director, Bible Study leaders facilitate biblical studies on Sundays and during the week. Sharing God’s Word to further the kingdom and to give spiritual growth within the believer is essential for battling the world’s deceptive views and preparing the Christian for spiritual warfare.

Nursery and Preschool Aides
Our children’s ministry is blooming, especially in the nursery and preschool areas. Church members can become involved in either hugging and holding the wee ones, as well as help minister to those little active children who need to know of God’s love for them. A Background Clearance is required, which is provided through the church.

Children’s Ministry
The other area of children’s ministry is with the elementary aged children. Bible study is at the same time as first service, 9:30am, and as the adults are worshiping in the Worship Center, the children are learning of the love Jesus has for them. Children’s Bible Study is in the Children/Youth Building.  A helping hand is always welcomed. A Background Clearance is required, which is provided through the church.
