Dear Church,
Easter Sunday is just passed. It was a great day, our Lord showed up and blessed. We celebrated three Baptisms, and Laura being saved. She was with us to watch her daughter Tina, be baptized and came to know Jesus as her own Savior. We also had the joy of welcoming back several members who’ve been gone for a while. God blessed the time of worship; It was a great day for the Lord and His Church.
Today we will be starting a series of messages on the book of Acts. The days following Jesus resurrection and how that birthed the Church. Again, this will not be a complete exhaustive study. We will be looking at the beginnings of the new Church. Who, What, Where, When and How! With the hopes that God will speak to us and inspire us to be busy with what His plan for our Church family is to be doing.  It is hard to accept sometimes, but we can’t do everything. We should not be trying to do everything.  Then we also struggle with NOT doing things that God has not planned for us to do. Acts is a continuation of the Book of Luke. The Gospel told what “Jesus began both to do and teach.” and Acts tells us what the risen Lord continues to do and teach through the work of Holy Spirit. I pray that God speaks mightily, and that we hear deeply and personally what Holy Spirit is speaking to us about today.
God is doing some new work in our Body of Believers. Well as much as anything can be new to us. First is our greater and stronger effort to build up our LifeGroups. Studying in the homes and developing learning and practicing our life of faith. We’ve asked Brother Don Horner to be our Education Director, taking on the oversight of Sunday Morning (Adult) Bible Studies, and leadership over the LifeGroups. He is helping with finding Bible Study material that will help us and our individual groups learn and be inspired to serve and live for Jesus. We have encouraged all our groups to start with the book of Acts. Some have already been digging deep into the Word. Groups are still being formed, if you’re interested in being in one, leading or facilitating (hosting), a group please call the office or speak to Brother Don.
We have another addition to our staff, Isaac Bouck has volunteered to be our Children’s Leader. Isaac has been teaching one our Children’s classes as well as chaperoning some Children’s events. Pray for Isaac and all our students. We will continue training Isaac and working with him to help with all the Children’s ministry activities.
One more for this month. Ty & Lisa Cochran are moving from the West side of Washington State, to live on the West Plains once again, and the Lord has also helped them find a home. They are returning to Airway Heights Baptist Church to serve. Ty will be serving as Team Leader of our Worship Ministry Team. Aby will continue to serve and minister through Music, still doing many things as she has done in the past. With Henry helping as he did this past month we may experience of a tremendous variety and a fulfilling Worship for everyone.
A personal note, I have had shots for my back, and it is improving wonderfully. The Dr. was encouraged by how well the shots have helped already. Thank you for your prayers, keep praying it continues to heal and get strong enough to do the work that is needed at church and at home.
We continue to pray for the need of a Youth Leader or Pastor, we still need a couple of volunteers to help in the search. We are beginning the process of training and selecting 3 new Deacons to help our church continue to care for the needs and ministry. John 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
All for Him,
Pastor Dale

Youth News…   There are a couple of things on the horizon for youth activities. Student Conference is May 3rd and 4th. The Cost will be $95 per student, which is due April 7th If you would like to help financially and donate some, part, or all for students to go please talk to me or Suzi Jenkins. Youth group meets on Wednesday nights 6:30-8:00. Hope to see your students there!     Pastor Ron

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Helpers are needed for the nursery during the worship hour. Our regular volunteers are either out of town, had to step down for health, or have moved. If we can get 3 or 4 couples or 6 or 8 individuals. We need two people each week. It would only be once a month. But if we get more, it would be longer between your time to serve.
This is a very important ministry if we plan on reaching our young families. Thank you in advance. I trust that God will speak, and you will answer with “YES LORD”
Please call or text to 509-496-0838 to let me know.
All workers will need to be background checked.

Financial Matters…
1Corn. 1:26-28 (NCV) says, “Brothers and sisters, look at what you were when God called you. Not many of you were wise in the way the world judge’s wisdom. Not many of you had great influence. Not many of you came from important families. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and he chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose what the world thinks is unimportant and what the world looks down on and thinks is nothing in order to destroy what the world thinks is important.”
The amount of financial guidance you can find in today’s world seems endless and ever changing. There are new ideas, new schemes, new plans, goals, and theories. There are thousands upon thousands of people who are willing to tell you: what to do with your money, how to get rich, how to beat taxes, or offer you the next great investment. They want to share with you how to get rich. I even saw a headline the other day promising to tell me the new secrets that “savvy” investors are using today. Everybody wants to be considered savvy—right?
But Proverbs 21:5 (NLT) reminds us, “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” Another version of the same verse replaces “Good planning and hard work” with “steady plodding”. Steady plodding does not sound savvy. It sounds boring and weak and maybe even foolish to some. Sound familiar?
Here’s the point: God is not doling out financial secrets. His instruction for how to handle money is unchanging. He has a plan and He told it to the world. Getting rich quick is not the answer to our financial woes. Don’t get me wrong; when God wants to provide a financial miracle, He’s still got that ability. But most of the time he simple points us back to good planning and hard work. Steady plodding. That flies in the face of what so many financial geniuses are selling. But boy does it work!
Will you take the next step? Your decision…make it a good one.
God Bless,
Pastor Leroy
Dear Ladies of AHBC-
Hello and Happy Spring! I wanted to share some news with you and express how much God loves you! As we reflect the cross and the newness of life it puts us in an emotional mindset, hopeful and grateful to be alive and chosen by God.
As you know there has been much change at Airway Heights Baptist and much illness. We can pray that as the illness subsides God’s glory will shine thru us and down to us. With all the changes and lack of abled bodies there will be NO Mother Daughter Tea in May. This event has been going on several years and requires much planning and many workers. We will instead offer a retreat and a summit both of which are out of town and will require planning and money. I will include those events at the end of this article.
We want to focus on our 60th year as a Church and to focus on some outreach events such as Vacation Bible School and feeding kids. We are not forgetting you ladies and do have a few bible studies still going. We need you! The kitchen needs a new Hostess and we always need Teachers and Leaders and Mentors. We need prayer warriors to intercede for the church and the Lord’s Will to be done!
If you have any questions about what I have said please ask me or ask Miss Penny. If you need help with going to these upcoming events or have any ideas on how we can further God’s kingdom thru our ladies lets pray together and talk!
Laurie Underwood
